Some things you might want to know…
How can I pay for passes?
At the studio, we accept cash, checks, credit cards and online payments with paypal.
Should I bring my own water?
You can bring your own water, but if you don’t, no worries, we have a water fountain there, and we also have a little refrigerator where we sell water bottles for just $.50. WE also have gatorade ($1) and other healthy snacks. You WILL need to drink water throughout the class. I recommend you drink ALL day, hydration is very important. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water AFTER the class also to replenish what you worked out.
What do I wear to class?
Wear comfortable workout clothes…looking extra cute is optional. If you want to follow with the codes, I announce color codes on Facebook. Those codes are what colors to dress up for in class. Not mandatory but it’s nice to see all the people matching.
What kind of shoes do I need?
This is a VERY common question. TRY DIFFERENT ONES! Running shoes and cross training shoes are not particularly recommended because it is made for FORWARD motion and as soon as your pivot to dance, it may cause strain on the knee. Some people like dance sneakers, some find those too slick. I am not endorsing Nike at all, but they DO make a DANCE Aerobic shoes, many different models…TRY DIFFERENT ONES. Some work for some people, some don’t. Even a specialty shoes store would be great to go to to be FITTED into the correct shoes for YOUR feet. Some have low arches, some high, some people are watering the wrong size shoes, the wrong width….fixing those things can make a world of a difference. :-) I personally LOVE insoles to give extra support to my arches. you can always come to talk to me too if you are having issues, and we can brain storm some ideas.
Do I need to know how to dance to take Kazaxe?
NOOOOOOOOO! I want you to have FUN whether you know how to dance or not. If you can’t do some steps, DO WHATEVER! I just want to see you smiling and laughing. Do not get frustrated. You WILL learn as you go. It is the assimilation method: when you learn a new language, the BEST WAY TO LEARN is to just DROP yourself into that foreign country and JUST DO IT. It is not a step by step dance class…it is a PARTY! We are at ALL DIFFERENT LEVELS, different ages, different cultures, different social backgrounds…..and WE LOVE THAT!
Can I bring small children?
ALL ages are welcome! Sometimes being in the middle of the crowd can be too dangerous, so I will ask the child to be moved to a safer area. On the other spectrum, if you think you are too OLD, this is me saying, NO YOU AIN’T! A disclaimer: it is YOUR decision as the parent/guardian to decide if the music and dances are “appropriate” for your child. We do not use blatant BAD language, but some music IS suggestive. Just a warning, but we have plenty of parents with their children taking the class with no issues :-)
What if I have more questions?
I look forward to meeting you, come and talk to me, I am always there before and after class to answer any questions or just chat it up :-)
